At the close of my 2019 wedding season, I took a trip to Zambia with my brother-in-law and his brother's family, as well as some clients of mine from Meraki Consulting and EyePoint Pharmaceutical!
It was a non-work related trip but of course I was still filming constantly, though this is no wedding video! Zambia was an amazing place to visit and I would definitely go back. We spent a couple days in Lusaka at the Marriot Safari Lodge (https://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/lunlu-protea-hotel-lusaka-safari-lodge/)
The lodges all had thatched roofs and the animals roamed nearby our accommodations, but it was not until we ended up at our final destination that we really saw the true beauty of Zambia! At the Mfuwe Lodge, owned by the Bush Camp Company, we had a 7 day safari alongside some amazing photography guides, one of them being Isak Pretorius, winner of the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year Award! We also shot alongside Shem Compion, another amazing wildlife photographer. We saw monkeys, baboons, elephants, giraffes, zebras, leopards, lions, and more!
Check out their sites:
or check out the Safari company that put all of this together!
Though I was still shooting this entire trip, I didn't have access to my phone or computer, so it was great to be unplugged for a little bit and enjoy the outdoors after long editing hours during the 2019 wedding season! I loved the 2019 season and it was my busiest yet. I can't wait to see what 2020 has in store!
Check out the video I put together of my trip below and see just how different it is from the wildlife in my home state of Maine!
